Creator Partner FAQ

Every detail of how the program works. The terms are the formal version; this page is the plain-English one.

What is the Creator Partner Program?
You share your personal referral link or code with your audience. Anyone who subscribes to Areel through it gets a recurring 10% discount, and you earn a commission on the revenue their subscription actually generates. You apply once, we review it personally (usually within a few days), and once you're activated your code goes live.
How much do I earn, exactly?
Commission is calculated on net revenue actually collected: what remains of a referred payment after the customer's 10% discount and the actual payment-processing fee for that transaction. No other costs are deducted. The rates by the customer's paid service month: months 1–3: 60% · months 4–12: 20% · month 13 onward: 0%. The month counter follows each customer's lifetime paid months and never restarts. A concrete example: a referred Solo monthly subscriber pays about $12.59 after the discount, which is roughly $11.56 net of the processing fee: you earn about $6.94/month in months 1–3 and about $2.31/month in months 4–12.
How do annual subscriptions pay out?
An annual payment (and its fee) is split across twelve service months, and each month earns at that month's rate: three months at 60% plus nine months at 20% for a first-year annual customer. The full commission is credited when the payment is collected.
When do I get paid?
New commission starts as pending and becomes available after a 7-day hold (this absorbs quick refunds). Payouts are prepared monthly on the 1st and are sent manually via PayPal in USD, subject to a USD 20 minimum payable balance, a confirmed PayPal payout email, and acceptance of the current terms. Anything below the minimum simply rolls into the next month. Every payout comes with a downloadable receipt PDF on your Payouts page.
How does attribution work, and when does a referral count as mine?
When someone opens your link, we set a first-party referral cookie that stays valid for 7 days, so they need to sign in or create their Areel account within that window. Once their account is linked to your code, the clock stops: whenever they later subscribe, the referral becomes permanently yours after the first verified charge. There is one lifetime creator per customer, and it never transfers. Alternatively, a customer can type your code on the checkout page while subscribing. What doesn't qualify: referring yourself, and referrals flagged by fraud checks (those go to human review; a review is not an accusation).
What does my audience actually get?
A recurring 10% discount on their subscription for as long as it stays active, even after your commission window ends at month 13. The discount applies automatically at checkout through your link or code; there's nothing to type into the payment form.
Can I choose or change my code?
Yes. You request a code when you apply, and once you're active you can change it yourself in Settings: 3–32 letters or numbers, first come, first served, at most one change every 7 days. The moment it changes, your old code stops capturing new referrals (links you already shared go dark), but customers you already referred, and everything you've earned, stay yours permanently.
What can I see about the people I refer?
Your Referrals page lists every referred customer as an anonymous reference with a masked email (like j***@gmail.com), their status, and the commission they've generated for you. Full customer details are never shown. That protects your audience, and it's part of why customers can trust creator links.
What happens on refunds or chargebacks?
If a referred payment is refunded or charged back, the matching commission is reversed (proportionally for partial refunds). If it had already been paid out, the amount is recovered from your future earnings. History is never rewritten: you'll always see the original entry and the reversal as separate lines.
Is my payout email safe? What data do you keep about me?
Your PayPal payout email is encrypted at rest and only ever revealed to staff through a protected, audited action. We don't collect identity documents, tax forms, bank details, or your home address. You're responsible for your own taxes on earnings.
Why is my commission showing but marked pending?
That's the 7-day maturity hold or, rarely, a temporary fee lookup delay on our side. Pending amounts become available automatically; nothing is lost. If something looks wrong after a week, write to us.
What happens if my account is suspended?
You can't generate new referrals while suspended, but commission you've already legitimately earned keeps flowing through the normal schedule. Earned commission is never confiscated without a recorded reason.
